Miss S.S., Mumbai, India
In April, 2002 I incurred severe pain on right side of my
face. I never felt this kind of pain in my whole life. The
pain was excruciating. The pain was so vigorous. I felt like
burning and cutting myself. I had pain like someone is
stabbing and tearing my face. It affected my teeth, ear,
eye, nose, head and throat. I use to have sleepless night
with tears in my eyes.
I went for allopathic treatment. They diagnosed my problem
as Trigeminal Neuralgia, which I had never ever heard about.
I was on heavy doses including painkillers and sleeping
pills. But it only includes sleep, drowsiness and relief for
short period. The doses were so heavy that even while
dining, I use to sleep. It disturbed my life and my family
members. I had visited to best neurosurgeons in Mumbai but
nothing helped me. I use to bang my head continuously. At
the age of 25 I felt my life is gone. There are no fun and
color in my life anymore.
Other details:
I am an executive working at a call center, for an American
company, whereby my job involves selling services to the
clients in the US. There is no much stress except working
till late hours.
I am a soft spoken, kind hearted person; tend to get wild if
things do not go as per my wish. This is more at home. I am
considered considerate and helpful. I have helped my friends
and even strangers, simply out of compassion. I have three
pets, which is not common in the social circle I move in. My
love for animals is since my childhood days. I have love for
animals and those who are deprived of privileges. I often
look around for hungry dogs and cats and try to feed them
with some food. I am content and not too ambition.
My family history comprises of Trigeminal Neuralgia
(mother), Systemic Lupus (maternal Grand father) and cancer
of breast (my aunt). My brother had tuberculosis and my
sister has some skin disease, not sure of the name, as she
is in Canada.
I sleep well. I need a long nap in the afternoon or in the
morning due to the fact that I work at night. I eat well. I
love sweets and chocolates. I do not eat meat, as I hate
killing animals. I have taken lots of medicines for this
painful disease. I was considering going for surgery or some
gamma treatment, and wanted to try homeopathy before such
procedure.
Homeopathic case processing:
Looking at the case in the homeopathic view point, the
patient is one who has a family history of neurological
diseases (TN and Systemic Lupus), which is suggestive of
genetic predisposition to TN. Here is a patient who has
certain strong emotions such as an element of sympathy,
which is remarkable. (Love for animals, helping people out
of the way, etc.) There is an excitability and expression of
emotions. Besides, the nature of the TN pain which is on the
right side of face, severer, stabbing, shooting, etc.
The treatment:
The totality of the case, which includes the study of the
genetic tendency, the emotions, the nature of the pain and
other details, suggest a homeopathic remedy called Causticum.
This medicine was administer to the patient in centesimal
potency, supported by another remedy called Carcinosin,
addressing the genetic predisposition.
The result in patients words:
Then one day while surfing net I came across Dr. Rajesh Shah
where I found that he has been treating patients suffering
from Trigeminal Neuralgia in Homoeopath. I went to his
clinic and met him. I am under his treatment for last 5
months and my pain has reduced a lot up to 85%. It was a
miracle for me since I have stopped all allopath. Now I can
enjoy my life and I have joined a company. No more of
banging head, disturbed nights. Thanks to Dr Rajesh Shah for
this miraculous treatment. It is my personal advice to
people suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia to get their
treatment done by Dr Rajesh Shah and see the tremendous
change in your life. Thanks to Dr Shah. |

This is the case of Mr. M.F (Patient Ref. No. L-6546), a 54 years old male patient who reported
to the clinic with complaints of left sided facial pain
since 6 years. He would get episodic pain involving the left
side of the face, teeth and eyes. The pain would be very
severe and inspite of being on a high dose of carbamazepine,
he would get at least 3-4 severe attacks daily. The pain
would increase while chewing, talking, laughing, and
whenever he would get a cold. If he would decrease the
dosage of carbamazepine even marginally, the attacks would
come back with increased severity.
Patient was also a known case of hypertension and diabetes
and was on regular treatment for the same. Apart from this
he also had complaints of recurrent colds due to a deviated
nasal septum. He would also get frequent throat infections
after taking after taking cold food or drinks.
Patient had an obese constitution and had marked craving for
fish. He had an aversion for sweets. He would occasionally
take beer. He had a tendency for profuse perspiration.
Stools were normal except that occasionally he would have to
rush to pass stools after eating. There was mild urgency for
urination also. Sleep was not sound and he would often feel
restless during sleep.
He was an anxious person by nature and had lot of anxiety
about his business and the competition therein. There was
marked insecurity about the financial status since he was
experiencing some problem with his business partner and
hence was low on income. His daughter's marriage was an
added cause of anxiety in his case.
In the past he had suffered from jaundice, renal calculi and
typhoid. He also had hypothyroidism in the past which had
been controlled with homoeopathy.
There was a strong family history of diabetes, hypertension,
ischemic heart disease, obesity and bronchial asthma. His
brother had hemophilia.
Based on the above history he was prescribed homoeopathic
medicines and he improved very well with the homoeopathic
treatment. He was given Mercurius Iodatus Rubrum with
Capsicum for the TN. He also required doses of Carcinosin
during the course of his treatment. Within 6 months of the
treatment the frequency as well as the severity of the
attacks had come down significantly and he was able to lead
a near-normal life without worrying that the pain may come
on the next moment. Also his complaints of recurrent throat
infections had improved significantly.
Gradually the dose of carbamazepine was also reduced to the
minimum required. This case shows that homoeopathic
medicines can provide significant relief in TN and help in
the pain control even in those cases which are not
responding favorably to the conventional medicines. |
