Friends and Colleagues,
We have pleasure in presenting you our new title: My
Experiences with Ferrum Metallicum written by Dr. Rajesh
Shah.
The book is the first of its kind which reveals the
usefulness and the great potentiality of this polycrest
in every day practice. Ferrum Metallicum is as old as the
system of homoeopathy, but it has remained lesser known
and under-used remedy.
Dr.B.N.Chakrawarty, the renowned homoeopathic teacher from
Calcutta writes in the foreword to the book " I hope the
book will fulfill a long felt want to such remedy-wise
research work and all homoeopaths will be greatly
benefited by his comprehensive study..."
In the prologue, Dr. Rajesh writes: "Iron is found all
around us. Today, almost every child is exposed to iron
long before his birth, as every mother is treated with
iron-supplement during the pregnancy...In homoeopathy, the
therapeutic application of Ferrum Metallicum is extendible
to the treatment of various disorders such as allergy,
migraine, depression, diabetes, etc. as illustrated in
this volume."
The Ferrum personality has been described in length and
very finely compared with Lycopodium, Aurum, Kali-fero-cynatum,
Platina and other 14 remedies.
This practice oriented book contains numerous cured cases
of Ferrum Metallicum.
In this book you will find clues to prescribe Ferrum
Metallicum to several of your patients as you will realise
that this remedy is as big a polychrest as others like
Silica, Natrum-mur or Lycopodium.
SOME NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL PRESS OPINIONS
National Journal of Homoeopathy (India) :
In the 'National Journal of Homoeopathy' Dr.Prabha
Patwardhan,M.D., says: A well researched and well thought
out book projecting the idea of Facets of a remedy, as
against the idea of a 'single thread' running through, or
the 'core' of the remedy.
Dr.Shah takes a group of symptoms appearing together in
one prover in drug proving as of the greatest value. He
has recognized the value of the same and developed a new
concept which he labels as The Concept of Facets. Some of
the Facets of Ferrum are described in the book. Many
key-notes and Entry-points are given to facilitate an
entry into the remedy.
All in all, a good book and well worth studying. We hope
Dr. Shah will bring out more more drug studies based on his
Concept of Facets.
Homoeopathic Links (Switzerland):
The most popular European Journal 'Homoeopathic Links'
opines about the book: Having an attractive portraying a
refined iron quartz and high quality paper and printing,
each and every chapter of this book reflects the author's
industry, his thoroughness and pains taking endeavor. The
readers get a clear picture of Ferrum which so far has
been neglected. The author has given nine illustrative
cases successfully treated by this "Iron Will" remedy,
together with analogical profiles of Mrs.Margaret Thatcher
and Mrs.Indira Gandhi.
The chapter on Relationship brings to our notice many
subtle similarities and differences between Ferrum and
other remedies like Aurum met, Lycopodium, Pulsatilla,
Silica, Platina, Natrum carb, Natrum mur, Nux vomica, etc.
All in all this book is worth studying again and again, as
an example as to how other remedies could be studied to
acquire greater mastery over them.
The Indian Journal of Homoeopathy (India):
'The Indian Journal of Homoeopathy' writes: In this
beautifully designed book the author gives a detailed
study of Ferrum metallicum, which is a lesser known
polychrest remedy. Dr.Rajesh has carefully correlated the
pure materia medica, repertorial references and his
reflections based on his own case-material for comparison
and verifications. All of these have resulted in a
brilliantly sketched picture of Ferrum metallicum. It is
an "experience-based-compilation" as the author states in
the Preface. It would be more appropriate to call it
'remedy-based-research-work' as commented by
Dr.B.N.Chakravarty in the Foreword to the book.
The author has done a remarkable compilation of Ferrum
related conditions of Food-Allergy, Skin disorders,
Diabetes, Migraine, Rheumatic disorders, Asthma, etc. He
has also given nine cases with detailed description and
long follow- ups.
Similia Similibus Curentur (Naderland):
In 'Similia Similibus Curentur' ( The most leading Dutch
Journal), the editor Dr.Frans Kussee writes : This
monograph on 'Ferrum Metallicum' is an excellent work and
I am sure that this book will help every practitioner and
serious student of homoeopathy. This book is very clear
and complete in the mental and physical symptomatology
with numerous case illustrations from the practice. I
enjoyed very much reading it. A very handy reference book
for clinic. The way how the Dr.Rajesh has described in
length the remedy, it is obvious that no homoeopath should
deprive his patients from Ferrum the remedy whenever
indicated. I sincerely advice every homoeopath to study
this book. This book is first of it's kind and we look
forward to more of such contribution from the author.
The Homoeopathic Heritage (India):
Dr.H.L.Chitkara (the Editor) writes in 'The Homoeopathic
Heritage': This well printed, tastefully laid out
monograph is a good contribution to the study of a remedy
which is not very commonly used by homoeopathic
practitioners. A very informative and useful reading.
The Homoeopath (England):
In one of the most leading journals from England called
'Homoeopath' Bob Fordham and Tricia Griffin write: It
looks that this book will outlast most of the books
imported from India. The clinical experience contained
within these pages is vast. Dr. Rajesh gives tantalizing
glimpses of his innovative approach. In our opinion
Dr. Shah has succeeded in his aim of helping every
homoeopath to perceive Ferrum in its broadest
perspectives.
Quarterly Homoeopathic Digest (India):
Dr.K.S.Srinivasan, the editor of 'Quarterly Homoeopathic
Digest', writes in the journal: Dr. Rajesh Shah has made a
careful and comparative study of Ferrum. The book is well
conceived and well-written. The study of the book is
certainly rewarding. A very commendable work. Strongly
recommended for every practitioner. |
