My teaching visit to Norway, Ireland and Croatia

Dear friends,
While I am returning from a teaching visit to Norway, Ireland and Croatia, from 12th May to 25th May, this editorial is being written in the aircraft! It is interesting and important to note that in all of these countries the homoeopathy is growing. However, the roots of homoeopathy are not so strong but there is a rejuvenated interest amongst the doctors and the general public.

Dr.Shah in OsloThe homoeopaths in Norway, like her Scandinavian counterparts, have been working hard to update their professional level in homoeopathy. My visit to Oslo almost coincided with their national festival on the 17th May; the attendance at the seminar reflected the enthusiasm for higher learning in homoeopathy practice.

Ennicecrone is a tiny sea-side town in Ireland, popular amongst the golf lovers. My two days teaching at a place adjoining the wonderful ocean and ever green countryside of Ireland was important for two main reasons. One, the homoeopaths who gathered from different parts of the country were insistent on a long-term training program for the professionals. Second, a recently form homoeopathic organization in Ireland seems to be focusing on upliftment of the homoeopathy status in Ireland. We hope to exercise all possible ways to have more well-trained homoeopathic professionals in Ireland.

Croatia has just recovered from a long war during 1990-93. Homoeopathy has a long way to go in this country. There is a local association for the homeopathic professionals and some enthusiastic young homoeopaths in Croatia who are dedicated to work for homoeopathy. Croatia does not have a local school for formal homoeopathic training. One of the British homoeopaths is doing a good work to train homoeopaths in and around Croatia.

Visiting different countries with diverse background and people, and to be instrumental in spreading a good word about homoeopathy give an immense joy and satisfaction. One day, I wish every country has standardized training facility which will make it possible for every one to have an access to local homoeopathic doctors.

With best wishes,

Dr. Rajesh Shah
